Topics he tackled
In the College of William and Mary during the early 1980s, he wrote articles that were a major concern not only on the campus but the nation. The articles were about the need to attract more black students to the school and concerns about the campus rape issue.
“For the sake of the whites who are here, the blacks who are here, the blacks who are not here, the state, and the nation, William and Mary needs more black students,”
This caused an uproar from other students and faculty and Comey was forced to defend himself while still arguing and supporting his claim in the form of a series.
He wrote on the campus rape issue in which the female victim was criticized because she was drunk.
“The incident is tragic and disturbing. It is not rare. some girl gets drunk at a party (usually with the encouragement of male guests) and is ‘used’ by one or more guys. ‘Used’ is not the correct term. ‘Raped’ is. ‘Sexually assaulted’ is.”
He also urged the victims to seek counseling, assistance, and the campus to be more compassionate.
The Flat Hat
He was also a columnist for the paper, The Flat Hat. In the paper he wrote in defense of his native New Jersey, complained about the need to get his bicycle registered with the police department, mocked “brownnoses” and even wrote about how good-looking the women were at William and Mary, comparing them to other certain schools.
“Girlwise, Harvard is desolate. There is very little grass in Harvard Yard; the coeds (we use the term loosely) ate it all. A large number of Harvard undergraduate men are unaware that the school went coed fifteen years ago.”
The book
His book “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership’’ is set to be released on April 17 of this year.
James’ accusations
Loretta Lynch, Former Attorney General has accused James which she revealed in an interview stating,
“Lynch had pressed him to downplay the significance of the Clinton email review in September 2015, just before a congressional hearing in which Comey was expected to be asked about the investigation. Comey said the moment led him to question her independence and contributed to his decision to unilaterally hold a press conference in July 2016 announcing the conclusions of the probe.”
