JD Vance: Views of this Republican Party Vice-Presidential nominee on divorce and women are insanely dangerous!
Donald Trump has chosen Senator JD Vance as his party Vice-presidential nominee. But JD’s public image is that of a person who holds regressive ideas. He has some weird views on divorce that are dangerous for society and should not be entertained.
JD Vance and his upbringing
JD Vance, 40 is the selected nominee for Republican Party Vice-Presidential post. But his opinions on women in society are extremely regressive and outdated.
JD hails from Ohio and his parents had divorced. This left a deep impact on his brain and emotions and he has begun to feel that it was his parents’ divorce that led to his troubles in life. Hence, he feels that couples should not be allowed to divorce for the sake of their kids.
JD feels that women should tolerate and continue in marriage even if the relationship is abusive. This sounds outdated and hilarious. But it is an insanely dangerous notion.

JD was brought up by his single mother and grandparents who had relocated to Ohio from Kentucky.
In his memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, JD writes about the incident when his maternal grandmother doused his sleeping maternal grandfather with gasoline and put it on fire. Their 11-year-old daughter had put off the flames. In JD’s created and imaginative world, he feels that such extreme violence is okay but divorce is not okay.
Facts about divorce in the USA
Most politicians are power-hungry and greedy. They lack scientific background and talk a lot of weird and nonsensical things. Their thinking is far from reality and they want to push ideas that could be dangerous for society.
They ignore research data and information. They do not want to consult experts in the field. The same holds true for JD.
American data shows that nearly half of the wedlocks end up in separation and divorce. Seventy percent of these divorces are filed by the wives. And in a great number of these divorces, domestic violence is serious and significant.
Research has also shown that children are not so much affected by divorce as they are affected by parental conflicts in front of their eyes. When parents are forced to stay together against their will, there will be disagreements and verbal altercations. These would be seen by the kids and affect them mentally in a negative way.
A 2013 American article titled “Is Divorce Bad for Children?” revealed that children of married couples in constant fights have more serious and long term effects compared to children from homes where parents have amicably separated due to personal reasons.
Divorce is not easy
JD wrongly feels that divorce in the USA are quick and easy just like changing and underwear. Ridiculous comparison!!! But according to divorce lawyers, divorce is never easy. It is a difficult time for the couples. Also, it has never been a quick decision for most women. They take several years to reach the decision. It is a last resort for them.
Moreover, such families with amicable divorces are better off in the long run. Hence, JD should do his homework well before he speaks in the public domain. Because his thoughtless and un-researched opinions could have far-reaching implications on society.
Domestic violence is never normal and a person who thinks so needs to self-reflect and get evaluated well.
