Talking about his career, his first album was created in 2002 during a workshop at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, led by the performance group Goat Island. Spencer Matern and Emily Evans further developed some of the songs at ESS in Chicago, and the album was released in 2004 under their label, Naivete Records, titled Big Amazing Songs. After graduating from SAIC, Jeff toured the US, opening for Jason Webley.
Jeff has released three more records: The Myth of Heroics, produced by Emmett Kelly in 2008 including He Said She Said That’s What She Said, produced by LeRoy Bach in 2012; and Pretty Girls Don’t Just Talk to Me, produced by Sam Wagster in 2013.
Besides music, he has also worked in some films. He and Brian Torrey Scott have made three films together including The Objects of Living, Isthmus and Ganzfeld. Their film The Objects of Living was filmed at the Catwalk Artist Residency in upstate New York. Ganzfeld was shot in the mountains of Montana and Chicago, as part of a year-long collaboration with Scott and their long-time friend and cameraman, Daniel Mejia.
