JJ Watt and his wife Kealia Ohai Watt are expanding their family. The couple has announced that they are expecting their second child.
They shared the joyful news through a joint Instagram post on February 3, 2025, expressing their excitement with the caption,
“Can’t wait to welcome new love into our lives.”
In the announcement, they included heartwarming photos featuring their 2-year-old son, Koa, who was seen kissing Kealia’s baby bump while their dogs looked on.
The couple, who married in February 2020, welcomed Koa in October 2022.
Another photo showed Kealia smiling and holding her baby bump while J.J. Watt was holding and smiling at their son, Koa.
The third photo includes a candid picture of J.J., Kealia, and Koa.
Furthermore, J.J. shared additional pictures on his Instagram Stories, including one of him holding Koa up to kiss Kealia’s baby bump, and another of J.J. talking to Koa, who looks skeptical.
A retired NFL player also wrote next to the photo,
“Koa slightly skeptical,”
The expectant couple began dating in early 2016 and publicly revealed their relationship in October of that year.
On February 15, 2020, the couple married at The Ocean Club, a Four Seasons Resort, in the Bahamas. The couple since living a blissful conjugal life.
JJ Watt cheers on son Koa’s budding passion for sports
JJ Watt has been enjoying family life since his retirement in December 2022 after a successful 12-season career.
In January 2024, the proud father told PEOPLE that Koa is already following in his parents’ footsteps. He said,
“He’s really loving sports. He’s got his own little basketball hoop and he loves to put the ball in the hoop. He’s got some mini hockey sticks and he’s finally learning how to use two hands on the hockey stick, which is great.”
Watt mentioned that he and Kealia are supportive of Koa participating in sports. He added,
“We obviously love sports because of everything that they teach kids, They teach discipline, they teach hard work, they teach teamwork. They teach how to deal with winning and losing, how to deal with adversity.”
