John Stamos shamed on social media for the way he was carrying his infant in the baby carrier! Know what he expert says!
- Internet and social media were meant for networking but then many are using them to spread hate
- The recent to be affected by this has been the new dad John Stamos
John Stamos and the troll story
John Stamos, 54 has become a dad at this late age. His happiness definitely is sky-high. Hence, he shared a picture of his 2-month-old son Billy taken somewhere in Times Square. The little one was strapped into a baby carrier.
John had put up the picture on his Instagram and captioned it as:
“The Stamos boys take Manhattan.”
In the picture, the baby could be seen face forward in his baby carrier. People quickly noticed this mistake and one of his fans wrote:
“The baby should not be facing forward if he doesn’t have full head control,”
Another follower wrote:
“He’s too young to comfortably and safely be worn forward facing!”
It is rather sad that John Stamos was merely trying to show his fans a cute shot of his baby and that did not seem the right moment to school someone on a safety lesson.
What do the experts say?
Jennifer Saxton, founder, and CEO of The Tot Squad states that Billy does not seem to be at risk though up to the age of 6 months, it is better that babies are carried in the carrier facing the parents for two reasons: one since their head control is poor at a young age and two that when they face the parents, the parent can see the mouth of the baby and can check that it is not obstructed.
The instructions for individual baby carriers vary. Jennifer said:
“Billy is likely a little young to be forward facing in the carrier,”
She continued:
“However, the ‘experts’ of the internet will nitpick people not knowing the comparative risks. The baby is clearly being properly taken care of and loved. There could be more tweaks that (John Stamos) would make for a more ideal situation — knowing that he is a high-profile example for other families as a celebrity.“
Commenting on the picture, Jennifer said:
“He’s not demonstrating best practice, at the same time he’s clearly actively involved with his baby,”
A similar incident with Ryan Reynolds
In 2015, Ryan Reynolds was similarly called out for having his baby daughter James with his face forward in the baby carrier. Ryan apologized and said that he was a first-time dad and hence the error. He also promised to not repeat the mistake.
He had told TODAY after the incident and troll message:
“The baby is not properly secured in the vessel that I’m wearing there. You know, I’m a first-time dad and that is not the first mistake I’ve made — and I can guarantee you it won’t be last.”
He later became a veteran father with two kids. The first-time excuse could be used by John Stamos as well but when the media tried to reach him, he did not reply back. Maybe, he is upset over this whole fuss from his fans.
