JoJo’s life and career
The singer became famous early in her life at the age of 13. She had a lot of demons to deal with in her life. These included her father’s opioid addiction, her own clinical depression, and her major legal fight with her record label. These were too much to bear for her tiny shoulders.
She stated:
‘I’ve been going to therapy since I was 18. I had more weight on my shoulders than I could bear,’
Furthermore, she said:
‘I would talk to my therapist once a week, and now it’s kind of as needed, but it’s really nice to have that impartial and professional opinion. I’m very fortunate that I could do that.’
Besides the therapy and prescribed drugs, JoJo also does exercises and Journaling to keep her mental health good. She now takes only a balanced amount of hard drinks. Earlier, she used to have it in an unhealthy way in order to cope with her problems.
‘There have been periods of time where I have consciously not drank, but I’m not sober — my relationship with alcohol is different now. I don’t drink to escape.’

She concluded:
‘It was like a banging my head against the wall until I believed it or until I actually did it. My therapist told me to act as if: like, if you don’t feel confident, act as if you are. You don’t feel like a bad b****, act as if you do — and then you do.’
