Kaitlynn Carter speaks up about her split with Miley Cyrus

Actress Kaitlynn Carter was in a lesbian relationship with Miley Cyrus after the latter split from Australian actor Liam Hemsworth. But this relationship had gone sour and Kaitlynn and Miley split.

Kaitlynn had remained mum on it until now. But now she decided to talk about her public split from Miley and how it affected her. She was talking to costar Whitney Port on Instagram Live last Wednesday 15 April 2020.

Kaitlynn revealed that she learned a lot from this public separation. She admitted that she did not expect the mass media to care about her once her relationship with Miley had ended. She said:

“What happened to me, basically just after Miley and I went our separate ways, I thought, ‘Okay, my life’s just kinda going back to the way it normally was for me when I’m on my own,’ I had no expectations that anyone would give a s— about me by myself. I had no plan in place. I didn’t think about anything.”

Kaitlynn, 33, and Miley, 29 were first seen in August 2019. Mikey had just split from Liam, 30 and Kaitlynn also had a recent breakup with Brody Jenner, 38. Kaitlynn-Miley affair was brief and by September it was splitsville for them.

Kaitlynn was shocked when after her public split from Miley, the paparazzi were still following her. She recalled how, after the split, she went to a friend’s bar for a drink and saw the media reporters behind her.

She got a shock the next day when there were headlines in several newspapers stating that she was out of town partying with some mystery man and it was only two weeks of her breakup from Miley.

The reality TV star said:

“I just didn’t anticipate anything like this happening, I’m used to it when I’m, like, with Brody or when I was with her, but never when I’m on my own. My mind is just swirling.”

She added:

“I was just so mortified. The narrative was so not what the actual situation was and that was such a wake-up call for me.”

The reality TV actress Kaitlynn was deeply hurt by all these goings-on. She then made a decision that she would take control of her public image and not let the paparazzi tarnish it. This was the first time that she had decided on it.

Kaitlynn said:

“I had never thought about what my narrative even was or what it was going to be. I had always gone with the flow or whatever people say they say, I don’t care.”
“In relationships especially, I have always taken a back seat a little bit and sort of trusted the person I’m with to run the show, especially publicly because it’s never really been something that I wanted, I never really wanted to put myself out there that way.”

She continued:

“Social media is so different because this is a community, on my Instagram, this is the community that I have been communicating with and sharing things with for years now. And I built this community over a long time. When I’m sharing things on there it feels familiar. It feels like a safe place. But the bigger picture, the rest of the world, where you don’t know everyone, that’s like a whole other level and that was not really something that I was ever [ready for].”

She admitted that she was naive and said:

“You don’t get to be so nonchalant about it.”
