Kate Beckinsale, 48 is astonished at the double standards of the entertainment industry and the people for their criticism of her dating younger boyfriends.
In Women Health’s June 2020 issue, she spoke on it defending her relationships.
She refused to adhere to society’s expectations for a woman her age.

The June 2020 issue of Women’s Health is out. And Kate Beckinsale spoke about her relationship with younger men.

She defended her relationships and also talked about the double standards of the people. Kate is astonished at the criticism of her for dating men younger than her.

She backlashed:

“If everyone’s s—ing on you, it can make you feel kind of ugh for a minute – especially if there’s really nothing wrong. If you’re strangling a squirrel or hurting someone, I get it, but living one’s life in a reasonably respectful manner shouldn’t invite anyone to get too excited.”

She revealed that it is not only for her but these criticisms come from every woman her age who is in love with younger boyfriends.

She added:

“It can feel like a little bit of a political act to be a woman over 32 who’s having any fun at all,”

Kate does not drink or take drugs. She does not see herself sitting at home and crocheting waiting for menopause to come.

Further, she said:

“Unless you’re doing that, it somehow seems to be risqué, which is just ridiculous to me,”

And Kate pointed out society’s double standards:

“I witness men constantly doing whatever they like, whether that’s in relationships, or deciding to buy a motorbike, or getting a tattoo. It hasn’t been interpreted as, ‘Why hasn’t he had more children?’ or, ‘Is he ever going to decide to become a parent?’ or, ‘Why has he had so many girlfriends?'”

Actress Kate has a daughter Lily with Michael Sheen. In December 2019, she posted on her Instagram some bikini photos. She was at that time on a vacation in Mexico. And she faced harsh trolls for it. One of her followers wrote:

“I feel like you are having a midlife crisis or something,”

And Kate did not take things lying down. She responded:

“Oh! I think that’s because you’re an annoying a——“

But other ardent fans of Kate came to her rescue. They praised her looks and body and also were happy with the way she handled the troller. One of her fans commented:

“You tell him Kate,”

While a second fan wrote:

“Yes Kate, tell them off queen.”

Another fan stated:

“Don’t even listen, you’re gorgeous,”
