American reality TV actress, Katie Maloney, 37 split from her husband, Tom Schwartz, 42 more than two years ago. What led to their divorce? Is Katie remarrying? What are her thoughts on it? Katie Maloney: Why she divorced Tom Schwartz?

American TV actress of Vanderpump Rules fame, Katie Maloney, 37 is more than two years post-divorce. Recently, she made an appearance on the podcast, Brutally Honest Anna. On it, she gave her viewers an insight into the reasons on why she made the difficult decision to divorce her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz, 42 in 2022.

Katie described Tom as a person who was unable to make major commitments in life. She said:

“A lot of times, I think he is still the same person that I married. And that person is wonderful. But that person, I also fell in love with when I was 25 years old,”

Katie added:

“I’ve grown a lot. I feel like I really had to drag him through a lot of phases in life… committing, moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, talking about having kids. All of those things… I don’t know why I did that. He was just so unsure.”

She decided to divorce when she felt that things were not improving and would not improve in the future.

Katie was hurt

Katie stated that Tom did not share goals and intentions similar to hers. Moreover, he did not have a vision for the future like hers. She admitted that she was not fully innocent in the process. She might have been difficult too. But, she added:

“…But, ultimately, I was just with somebody that didn’t know how to be a partner… Maybe I was still in love with him, but emotionally, it became very difficult to be with him.”

Talking about her hurt, Katie said:

“There was a lot of hurt that was built up. He cheated on me in the past — and so there were things I hadn’t healed from that were definitely weighing on me and affected my feelings towards him. But, all in all, I was still very much in love with this person and wanted to be with them but they just didn’t know how.”

However, she continues to be friendly with Tom. They co-parent their dogs, Butter and Gordo.

Would Katie remarry?

A few weeks back, Katie had revealed to the world that she is dating a new man. It was on 16 October 2024 that Katie spoke on podcast Disrespectfully. She said:

“So, I have a boyfriend. Yeah, I’m in love.”

And now, Katie said that divorce is a bad thing and she would not marry for her sake. But she might marry for her partner’s sake if he insists on it. According to her:

“If it means not having to get divorced again, then I will avoid marriage,”
“[Divorce is] really devastating no matter who asks for it, no matter how necessary it is, it is really just a mindf—k to go through that with somebody. But if I met someone and I fell in love and they were like, ‘I really want marriage. That is super important to me,’ then I would do it for them. But for myself? No.”
