The filing showed that Baumgartner, 49, asked for joint custody of the couple’s three kids: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.
Christine did not mention anywhere that s he desires to have spousal support but there is a prenup in place.
A rep for Costner confirmed,
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,”
“We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
The Bodyguard actor, 68, also responded to Christine’s petition the day after by asking for joint custody of their three kids.
Christine and the Yellowstone star started their romance in 1999 just months after the actor broke up with Bridget Rooney with whom he shares a son Liam, 27.
The couple split for some time but ended up reconciling the following year and married in Aspen, Colorado.
In May 2007, the couple welcomed their first child, son Cayden, and their second child, son Hayes arrived in February 2009.

Kevin’s previous marriage and other children
This is not Kevin’s first marriage. Before Christine, the Hidden Figures star married Cindy Costner but divorced in 2004.
The exes also share three kids together: Annie, 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35.
The divorce announcement comes after Yellowstone which gave Kevin’s career a new direction and even a Golden Globe for his character as John Dutton was canceled after five long seasons. It was because of his dispute with creator Taylor Sheridan.
A production source revealed,
“It’s the same as with any showrunner and big star — there’s respect, but there’s friction,”
They added,
“We’re hoping it will be worked out. It’s too big a show for things not to be worked out.
“Hopefully Kevin will return for the remaining episodes if everyone works together, but it looks like ‘Yellowstone’ will end after this season.”
