Kim Kardashian had to return her 18-carat engagement ring to get divorce from ex-husband Kris Humphries!

Kim Kardashian revealed on the show The Kardashians how her second ex-husband, Kris Humphries demanded her to return the engagement ring to him if she wanted to finalize the divorce. What did Kris do with the ring?

In the recent episode of the show The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian, 44 talked about how Kris had wanted the engagement ring back though he had paid only one-fifth of the cost of this 18-carat ring.

Talking to sister Khloe Kardashian, Kim said:

I wonder what my next ring shape will be — on my last and final hoorah.”

And she remembered all her engagement rings saying:

“Number one was a cushion cut, 14-karat,”

This was from her first husband, Damon Thomas.

The second ring was from NBA player Kris and it was an 18-karat emerald cut that was from Lorraine Schwartz.

The couple started dating in 2010. It was a whirlwind romance after Jordan Farmar, Kris Humphries’ New Jersey Nets fellow player introduced the two in New York. However, the marriage of the SKIMS founder to Kris was of a very short duration. It was in 2011 and lasted a mere 72 days.

Later, they filed for divorce and it was finalized in June 2013. Kim revealed on the show about the ring:

“I didn’t keep that.”

I was pregnant with [daughter] North [West], still married to him and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in my divorce,”

Further, she explained:

He contributed a fifth,”

Kim’s close friend and hair stylist, Chris Appleton remarked:

Jesus,”

Christian felt that the situation was a dreadful one. Lorraine Schwartz who was also present there comforted Kim and stated that it was good that she managed to get rid of that ring. But she added:

But I would’ve loved a collection.”

About the second engagement ring of Kim: What Kris did with it?

As per reports, the engagement ring that Kris proposed Kim with was made of 18-carat gold. It had an emerald cut diamond in the center.

After the court granted divorce to Kim and Kris, Kris did not keep the ring either. But he put it up for auction. And sold it for USD 749000. In 2013, his rep had asserted:

The ring is indeed Kris’ property that he received through his marriage dissolution.”

Kim rarely talks about her marriage to Kris on the show. In 2021, she had stated that she had cold feet during her wedding with Kris but nonetheless continued with it:

“I thought, ‘Okay, we’re filming this for a TV show. If I leave, I’m going to be known as the runaway bride forever and it’s going to be a huge joke, and I think I just have cold feet.’ So I was like, ‘Okay guys, it’s just cold feet, I got this, it’s cold feet, we’re filming the show,'”

She added:

“I was so nervous to break up with someone, I handled it totally the wrong way. And I fully broke up with him in the worst way, and I couldn’t. I just didn’t know how to deal. I learned so much from it,”
