Kim Kardashian has decided to close one of her ventures, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, after a decade of its release.
In 2014, she launched the free-to-play role-playing game with Glu Mobile.
The video game was created to help users in gaining popularity and status, particularly for those who aspire to be A-list celebrities.
Kardashians star, 43, announced her decision to shut down her mobile game in a statement to TMZ on Wednesday, January 3. The statement reads,

“I’m so grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has loved and played Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in the past 10 years, This journey has meant so much to me but I’ve realized that it’s time to focus that energy into other passions.”
“I want to thank the Glu team and the many people behind the scenes who have worked diligently on making it a success, I will be forever inspired by this community that we built together.”
The game has now already been removed from the Apple App Store and the Google Play store. Similarly, those who have already downloaded the app have been notified that it will be disabled on April 8.
According to reports, the reason behind the Skims founder shutting down the game was to “focus that energy into other passions”.
How much money did Kim Kardashian: Hollywood make?
According to reports, the reality TV star made millions of dollars with the app. The game was making $700,000 a day, months after it was released.
By 2016, the mobile app had accumulated around 16 billion minutes of playtime.
According to a Forbes cover story from July 2016, the game was downloaded 45 million times.
Meanwhile, it generated $1.6 million in revenue in just five days following its release date, earning Kardashian an estimated $45 million.
Celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, and Katy Perry created their own renditions of the app, inspired by Kim Kardashian’s’ game.
