Today show co-host, Sheinelle Jones, 46 has been hosting the show for many years now. Her screen presence was awesome and her fans adore her.

But since 18th December, Sheinelle has not been seen on the show. Neither was she present during the last show of the departing host of the NBC show, Hoda Kotb. This episode was aired on 10th January 2025. Hoda had revealed last year that she is leaving the show.

“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter,”
“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my ‘Today’ show family, but to also have all of you,”

“Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon.”

The exact details of the family health issues remains unclear. However, an insider told People magazine that the health matter was of a serious nature.

But the health issue is not related to Sheinelle or her husband, Uche Ojeh or their three children: Kayin, 14 and twins Clara and Uche, 12. The source added:

“Sheinelle appreciates the support she’s received from fans and viewers in her absence,”

Additionally, host Savannah Guthrie, 53 made a comment on the show after Sheinelle had posted on her Instagram. Savannah said:

Also, Sheinelle’s co-hosts commented on her Instagram post. Savannah wrote:

“We love you so. not the same without you. we will see you soon.”

Craig Melvin put the comment:

“We all love you and we are so looking forward to having you back.”

While Jenna Bush Hager remarked:

“You are a queen and are LOVED beyond measure! Wrapping our arms around you, always.”
