Kris Jenner grieves sister Karen Houghton’s death
Kris Jenner announced the death of her younger sister, Karen Houghton, via Instagram. She was 65.
The momager shared a slideshow of family photos posing with Karen over the years. She wrote,
“It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly,”
“My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out.”
The reality star, 68, remembered her younger sister as the “sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny.”
The Kardashians star recalled,
“She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter,”
Jenner also said that Karen is a “huge part of [her] heart,” adding, “I cherish every single memory we have together.”
The mom of six concluded,
“Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised.”

What to know about Jenner and Houghton’s relationship?
While Kris had only good things to say about her sister, it seems that the two weren’t always on great terms.
According to RadarOnline, Houghton wrote on her Facebook in April 2024,
“Pray for Kris Jenner she needs it…crazy,”
”Shes as [sic] nutcase. She doesn’t need prayers she needs sky vodka hahaha hahaha hahaha.”
Karen also claimed to the outlet that her sister would not return her calls. She said at the time,
“If you think your sister would call you back, she doesn’t,”
“And it hurts me. I don’t care how much money you have or who you are, you’re my sister. I’m not afraid of her. … I can’t get to her anymore. But I guess it’s the money.”
At the time, she also described her sister as “not warm and fuzzy,” adding, “She’s very serious.”
While it’s not sure whether the two sisters’ bond was mended before Karen’s death, they came together with other family members in a pic shared via Instagram Stories at Christmas of 2019.
