Kyle Walker is facing a tumultuous situation as his wife, Annie Kilner, has taken significant steps towards ending their marriage following his affair.

Reports indicate that Annie has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband. Allegations surfaced last week suggesting that she had consulted with lawyers to initiate legal proceedings to end their marriage.

The divorce papers left England and Manchester City star, 31, “stunned” according to The Sun. An insider told the publication,

“Kyle was stunned when he got the papers. He’s Spoken to Annie about them and they are discussing the next steps. This doesn’t neccessarily mean they will divorce. She wants Kyle to know she’s not messing about. But if this is a bluff, it may well back-fire.”

MailOnline reported that Kyle received the divorce papers about ten days ago. He has since moved back into the family home but sleeps separately from Kilner. Similarly, Annie is reportedly seeking half of Walker’s estimated £27 million fortune.

Kyle and Annie are childhood sweethearts. They began their relationship in their teenage when they first met while he was playing for Sheffield United at age 18.

The pair share four children aged 11, seven, five, and five months. Additionally, Walker has two children from his affair with influencer Lauryn Goodman, aged four and 13 months.

Kyle and Annie’s relationship has faced significant turmoil since it was disclosed that Walker fathered a child with Lauryn Goodman during a break in his relationship with Kilner in 2020.

In an interview with The Sun in January 2024, Walker publicly apologized for his infidelity, acknowledging the pain he caused Annie and taking full responsibility for his “idiot choices.”

He expressed regret over the hurt he inflicted upon her and recognized the weight of his actions. The Man City caption expressed,

“What I’ve done is horrible and I take full responsibility, I made idiot choices and idiot decisions. I can’t begin to think or imagine what Annie is going through. I’ve tried to ask her but there’s pain and hurt. The only person to blame is me. I have roles and responsibilities that I’m aware of and I’ve made stupid choices. It seems Kilner has reached a breaking point in her troubled relationship with Kyle and is ready to end their marriage for good. Although Walker returned to the family home in Cheshire, the couple’s situation has reportedly gotten worsened. Sources reveal that they have been sleeping in separate beds, and Annie feels that “things are worse than ever.”

A close source commented on their situation, saying,

“Things are as bad between them as they have ever been. It wasn’t like a normal marriage. They have barely been speaking to each ther. She is divorcing Kyle because she just can’t forgive him for what he’s done to her. She can’t get over it. She has tried.Kyle seems to have accepted it’s over. He’s been happier in the last week or so. Like the weight of the world’s been lifted from his shoulders.”
