Taking advantage of its popularity, LA street artist Sabo decided to use it to spread the anti-pedophilia message to the world. Pedophilia is a problem plaguing Hollywood for decades now and Sabo wanted the attention of the world towards it.

The billboard defacement -Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Quentin Tarantino’s great new venture Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has hit cinemas worldwide. People are thrilled about the storylines in it as well as the performances of the actors and actresses in it. It has Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and others in it.

As the film is garnering rave reviews, side-by-side there is another controversy in which it has become entangled. Its various billboards are being defaced and vandalized.

One of the billboards is placed at the intersection of La Cienega Blvd. and Pico Blvd. It read ‘Once Upon a Time in… Pedowood’. In place of Leonardo DiCaprio and rad Pitt’s faces, there were the faces of Jeffrey Epstein and Roman Polanski respectively. People posted pictures of these vandalized posters of the film on social media.

Street artist Sabo -the billboard vandalized

The LA-based street artist Sabo has taken the credit for having defaced the billboards of the movie. He stated that he himself was a victim of child abuse. He revealed on his website:

“I’ve never prayed before a project but I prayed before this one, in the names of all those children harmed by these monsters. I hope they all get caught and put behind bars.”

Sabo also communicated with TheWrap via email in which he said:

“When I pray and sadly it’s seldom I believe it should be in private. This time I knew that the issue of pedophilia meant a lot to those who were helping me and those who were supporting me. Not to mention I felt it was necessary to give a prayer out to those children who were hurt by adults who abuse them sexual. Not that I want to make an issue of it but I was sort of abused a bit by a maide [sic] and a cousin when I was 2 and 5 years old.”

Sabo and his further statements on this issue of pedophilia

The street artist further said:

“I wanted to bring around the problem of pedophilia in Hollywood both past and the present. I felt using this movie was a great vehicle to do that. And I haven’t seen the story yet but I hear it includes within the story in the Tate murders executed by Charles Mason. Manson killed Polanski’s wife. Polanski is a convicted pedophile and so is Epstein. I thought they should share a billboard together to bring attention to a problem that has plagued Hollywood for decades.”
