Laura Byrne and her second miscarriage
Laura Byrne was happy that she is pregnant again. But unfortunately, this happiness did not last long since she has now miscarried the baby in her womb.
Laura, 34 spoke on Tuesday 14 April 2020 on her Life Uncut Podcast. She revealed the sad news on it saying that it happened this year.
On the podcast, Laura told the co-host Brittany Hockley:
“Just two months ago, Matt and I went through our second miscarriage and that still feels raw and very bizarre to even say out loud.”
She added:
“It’s not something I’ve really spoken about, not something that I’ve talked to many people about, but I feel very very passionately that miscarriage is a conversation that needs to be had in an open forum.”
The relationship timeline of the couple
Laura and Matty had met on the show The Bachelor during its 2017 season. They began dating and had a good, smooth, and strong relationship throughout.
In April 2019, they revealed their engagement to the world on their social media. The couple posted a video of Matty going on one knee.
Matty captioned the video:
“There’s absolutely no one else I’d rather grow old and senile with. I can’t wait to start a family together and now I can’t wait to be your husband! ❤️????”
Laura uploaded a photo of the two and showed off her diamond engagement ring writing:
“You are my favourite everything @matthewdavidjohnson. YES to a lifetime of love and flamboyant dance moves with you my honey ????❤️”
Later their daughter Marlie-Mae arrived in June 2019. Soon after the birth of their first child, Laura was, again pregnant. The couple was on cloud nine.
Laura said:
“I found out I was pregnant. We had gotten really excited about it and we’d had our scans and everything. A week later, I felt different and I knew something was wrong and I knew it was happening again.”
“I guess I never thought I would be someone who would have one miscarriage, let alone someone who would have two miscarriages,”
Prior to the birth of Marlie-Mae, Laura had suffered a miscarriage in June 2018. It happened when the growing embryo in her womb was nine weeks old.
Laura shares her story – the reason!
The reality TV star revealed that she wanted people to know of her story so that they do not feel alone if they too had a history of miscarriage. The jewelry designer hopes that she could help such people with her sad tale.
Laura said:
“It is painful and it is lonely, but it doesn’t need to be quite so lonely, and the more that we talk about it, and the more the we de-stigmatise it, then I feel other women who are going through the same thing may feel more supported,”
