This Thursday, 28 August 2024, American actress, Leah Remini, 54 put in her legal papers for divorce from her actor husband of 21 years, Angelo Pagán, 56.

The separation is now official! American beauty, Leah Remini, 54 has filed for divorce from her actor-singer husband, Angelo Pagán on 28 August 2024. They are leaving behind a married life of 21 years.

Leah has cited the reason for divorce as irreconcilable differences between her and her estranged husband, Angelo, Page six states. The divorce documents filed at the Los Angeles County court has put 1 August 2024 as the day that the ex-couple separated.

The gorgeous actress does not desire any spousal support. She has also requested the court to not allow Angelo to demand any spousal support from her. Angelo has responded to the divorce filing and has waived off his right to ask for spousal support as well.

There will be no custody battle since they have no minor children at the moment.

The relationship timeline of the couple

The couple had met in 1996 at the Cuban restaurant in Los Angeles, El Floridita. The two began dating. On 19 July 2003, the two decided to wed in Las Vegas. It was a Scientologist minister who officiated that wedding.

Soon after, Leah became pregnant with their first child. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Sofia Bella on 16 June 2004. The child is now 20 years of age.

It was a rocky start to their married life since Angelo had hid from her the fact that he was married. In 2015 memoir, Leah had stated that he was a serial cheater when she met him.

On 29 August 2024, Leah and Angelo put up a lengthy joint statement on Instagram announcing their divorce. In it, they revealed that the divorce is hard and has saddened them. But after a lot of thought, they have opted for it because that is the best option for them at that time.

Reason for the divorce

In the Instagram post, the couple have stated the reason for the divorce. They wrote:

“To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore,”

The pair had always been open about their relationship with their fans. Their life was documented on the TLC show Leah Remini: It’s All Relative in 2014 and 2015. The two added:

“We hope our journey can inspire others to see that relationships—whether they change or end—aren’t failures,” their post continued. “We’ll keep sharing snippets of our lives as we navigate this new chapter.”

Angelo has three children from previous relationships. His first wife was Elaine Aviles and the two share son Angelo Alexander Alex Pagan born on 29 December 1986 and second child, son Nicholas Nico Pagan whom they welcomed on 10 December 1988. Angelo divorced Elaine and his second wife was Raquel Williams. Raquel gave birth to Angelo’s third child, Angelo Pagan Jr. on 18 April 1993.
