Pele has been hospitalized after developing swelling “all over his body”
Pele, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, is now hospitalized at Albert Einstein Hospital after his health condition became worse amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
He was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, November 29, after he had suffered a general swelling of the body heart issues, and mental confusion with his cancer treatment.
It is said that the former football player was ‘very restless’ when he arrived at the hospital and he has been struggling to feed himself.
On November 30, Pele’s eldest daughter, Kelly Nascimento, took to Instagram to give an update on her father’s health condition. She assured fans that there “is no emergency or new dire prediction” regarding his health.
“Hi my friends. Lots of alarm in the media today concerning my dad’s health. He is in the hospital regulating medication,”
“Some of my siblings are visiting Brazil. There is now emergency or new dire prediction. I will be there for New Years and promise to post some pictures. Really and truly, we appreciate the concern and love!!”

When did the cancer was discovered in Pele?
While going for a series of routine examinations, doctors discovered that Pele had colon cancer last September. After that, he was hospitalized for a month following his diagnosis as he underwent surgery.
After the surgery, he spoke out on his health battles and provided gratitude towards doctors and their specialists, stating,
“My friends, thank you very much for the kind messages. I thank God for feeling very well and for allowing Dr. Fábio and Dr. Miguel to take care of my health,”
“Last Saturday I underwent surgery to remove a suspicious lesion in the right colon. The tumor was identified during the tests I mentioned last week.”
He continued,
“Fortunately, I’m used to celebrating great victories alongside you. I will face this match with a smile on my face, a lot of optimism and joy for living surrounded by the love of my family and friends.”
He has been since receiving regular chemotherapy treatment and monthly tests to check the effectiveness of tackling the tumor.
Pele was earlier hospitalized in 2014 after he suffered from a urinary tract infection and subsequently underwent surgery to remove kidney stones in 2019.
