In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the pair remembered their TV days and admitted to sharing a laugh about their characters being together in the real world.

Adam joked,

“Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day, It’s good for a laugh.”

Meester added,

“It doesn’t excite us, I think because we’re just human beings…but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you.”

Apparently, the couple isn’t as obsessed with the character connection as we are since they’ve confessed to not watching each other’s shows.

Seth and Blair Day may not be an official thing, but an obsessive way everywhere will continue to hope it exists. Because TV teenagers falling in love with IRL is still pretty cool.

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Never Talk About Seth and Blair

It’s not a big deal when two random normies fall in love, get married, and have babies, but when two iconic teen TV drama actors fall in love and get married and have a baby then it’s like the stars have aligned to gift our wretched world with a signal of light in these dark, uncultured times.

The OC’s original comics-obsessed lonely boy Adam Brody and Gossip Girl queen bee Leighton Meester married in 2014 and have traveled pretty.

While volunteering in Los Angeles, the couple spoke to E! News in their first official interview as husband and wife.

Brody joked,

“Occasionally,”
“Once a year, randomly, on our Seth and Blair day. It’s good for a laugh.”

In the most Blair answer imaginable. Leighton laughed quietly at her husband’s joke but was politely unaware of how to react.

She opened up by saying,

“It doesn’t excite us, I think because we’re just human beings … but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you, It’s cool.”

Joking about having Once a year “Seth & Blair Day”

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are Ultra-private couples. They usually don’t discuss their personal lives frequently, but when they do, it’s every bit as lovable as you might think.

The couple, who wed in 2014, also share 22-month-old daughter Arlo Day — and while they acknowledged she’s too young to have joined them for the charity event, they’re still trying to instill certain values in her.

Meester said,

“ I think that it’s really important to show your children that there are different sides to everything, It’s something that people I think don’t talk about — this is a crisis, This is a summer hunger campaign for the awareness of all the kids in America that don’t have food during the summer. So I think you sort of take that for granted, and to just instill in your children … and also remember yourself — you’re super lucky. It’s good to reach out and to help and just to remember that.”

Celebrating “Seth and Blair Day” in their house

As Seth Cohen from The O.C. and Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl are married, teen television drama fans reasonably LOVED that. They are two iconic characters of the Aughts.

But it’s really not a big deal for Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, the person who portrayed these fictional people. But Brody kept on joking that the couple celebrates “Seth and Blair Day” once a year.

Brody and Meester gave their first joint interview since they got married in 2014 to Entertainment Tonight, while volunteering for Feeding America on June 27th. They are far funnier beyond their on-screen characters.

But Brody did joke:

“Once a year, we have a Seth and Blair day where we dress up.”

The joke ended when Meester started laughing (with some embarrassment) at her husband, but it at least gives fans a pretty hilarious scenario to imagine.

As Meester explained, the fact that they were both in two teen shows in the 2000s isn’t that interesting to them — but she gets why it’s cool for fans.

She said,

“It doesn’t excite us, I think, because we’re just human beings… but it’s exciting to us that it’s exciting to you,”

Brody and Meester’s job for TV fantasies, and raising awareness is appreciated.
