Lili Reinhart is battling a common disease called Alopecia
Lili Reinhart recently shared on TikTok that she has been diagnosed with Alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss.
In the video, she talked candidly about her health condition and stated that she is receiving treatment for it.
She is shown in the clip sitting under a special machine commonly used to help treat skin conditions. Similarly, she captioned the post, writing,
“Was just diagnosed with alopecia in the midst of a major depressive episode, Red light therapy is my new best friend,”
The National Institute of Health states that there is no treatment for alopecia, however, red light therapy somehow stimulates hair growth.
Additionally, the Riverdale star, 27, lip-synced over an audio recording of a man saying,
“I’m pushed beyond limits of what a person should be pushed to endure.”

Aside from Lili, several celebrities have been open about their battles with alopecia.
In May 2018, Jada Pinkett Smith shared her struggle with hair loss, stating that it “was terrifying” when it first started.
“I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, ‘Oh my god, am I going bald?’ That’s why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it.”
Lili Reinhart was a mental health patient
Lili has previously spoken openly about his struggles with mental health. She is now also an advocate for mental health awareness.
During Mental Health Awareness Month in May 2021, the actress revealed that she struggled with depression for 11 years, which she considered to be “intolerable.”
She said at the time,
“This is a reminder to my fellow warriors that it’s OK to have days where you don’t want to fight anymore. You don’t need to justify your mental health to anyone. Prioritize yourself when needed, take time to rest. Surround yourself with good people and high vibrations. But always remember you are always worth fighting for. And tomorrow could be such a beautiful day.”
Besides, she also published a book of poetry titled Swimming Lessons in 2020, in which she talked about her “experiences with love, depression, and anxiety.”
