What was Linda Haynes best known for?
Linda Haynes made her acting debut in 1969 following her appearance as ‘Dr. Anne Barton’ in Latitude Zero.
She then appeared in the psychological thriller Rolling Thunder where she portrayed the role of barmaid Linda Forchet. In 1980, she starred opposite Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman in Brubaker where she played the role of Carol.
Quentin Tarantino has even praised Haynes for her role in Rolling Thunder.
“The performance of the film for me is Linda Haynes as Linda Forchet. Linda Forchet is my favorite female character in a Paul Schrader [-written] movie. … She has that look that Ava Gardner got, you know blousey, but it took Ava years to do it, and Linda Haynes just did it naturally. And I mean that in a good way.”
Further, she appeared in Coffy (1973), The Nickel Ride (1974), The Drowning Pool (1975), and Human Experiments (1979). She also made appearances in several television shows such as This Is the Life, My Three Sons, Room 222, and more.
In the early 80s, Haynes stepped away from the entertainment industry and worked as a legal secretary.
