It’s been not even a month since Donald Trump has assumed office, and the US President has already fired more than 200 people of the federal government.
Donald Trump and his firing spree
Donald Trump assumed office for the second time as US President on 20th January 2025. He had made a number of promises during his election campaigns. And now, he seems to be in haste to fulfil them.
Donald canceled birthright citizenship, banned transgenders in women athletics, deported illegal immigrants to their country of origin and declared that US would own Gaza strip and resettle the people there.

And at the White House, Donald is making news for his massive turnover of employees. He has sacked several high profile people, including the ones he himself had appointed during his first tenure as US President. He has offered buyouts to millions of government employees to cut costs.
Cash for resignation from Donald Trump
Thd newly elected President is offering cash for resignation to the 2 million federal government staff. He wants to cutdown the size and costs of running the government. Donald says:
“Everybody is replaceable.“
The president is offering 8 months of salary to those who will quit the government post by 6th February 2025. 40k have already taken this offer. But the court has put this program on hold for the time being.
Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes
These DEI programs are put on hold by the current American President. These were in place before to ensure that people from all social backgrounds are part of organizations and programs in the USA. Advocates of the program state that this new move is discriminatory. But critics say that the program itself was discriminatory to others.

John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts trustee members
Donald has fired the board members of John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and instead will be it’s chairman himself.
Ellen Weintraub
Ellen is the Democratic Federal Elections Committee (FEC) chair. She shared her sacking letter online adding that firing her without a valid reason was illegal.
Gwynne Wilcox
Gwynne was the first woman of color to be on the National Labor Relations Board. She has put up a legal case against the government for her sacking.
Jose Andres, Brian Hook, Mark Milley, Keisha Lance Bottoms
These four were appointed by Donald during his first term. Informing them online, the President wrote on Truth Social:
“Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the Presidents Export Council — YOU’RE FIRED!”
Jose Andres is a humanitarian and chef of the USA. He was co-chairperson of the federal advisory committee for two years from March 2022.

Brian Hook was one of the top person to go to Iran as an envoy when Donald was the President on first occasion. Keisha was former senior advisor for Trump government.
And Donald had appointed Mark Milley as Joint Chiefs of Staff during his first term. Mark’s security details and clearance were also lifted up. His portrait no longer hangs in Pentagon. He is paying the price for his past criticism of Donald.
Jose had already resigned one month back and hence his firing does not hold.
Prosecutors of criminal case against Donald Trump
The Joe Biden government had initiated legal cases against Donald. And now the prosecutors on this case are also sacked. This was because the current government wants to do away with anything against its working to make America great again. The cases against the president stand dismissed now after he won the election.
Senior FBI officials
Eight FBI officials on senior posts also got a letter from the Trump administration through his former defense lawyer, Emil Bove, a former defense lawyer for Trump who is now incorporated within the Justice department. These officials were on the investigation of the 6th January Capitol riots.
Inspector generals of federal agencies
These inspector generals were keeping an eye on any abuse of governmental power. These were from department of defense, energy, and state. Many of these got sacked.
