Now, EastEnders TV show is going to have the first Muslim lesbian in its show. It will come up this month itself.

EastEnders and its first Muslim lesbian

The long-running soap EastEnders is going to have its first Muslim lesbian storyline. It will commence this month itself when its character Iqra Ahmed will be shown texting sex messages to other girls secretly.

The Muslim community is a conservative one. And this new aspect of Iqra’s character is a bold step toward diversity in the soap world.

The Sun has revealed that this summer, Iqra’s Ahmed portrayed by the actress Priya Davdra will turn gay. She will start sending love messages to other girls secretly.

An insider told The Sun:

“Iqra has been fighting to keep her sexuality quiet, but eventually the truth will emerge.”

Though this TV series had a gay Muslim character before, Iqra’s character will be its first Muslim lesbian person. Hence, it is unique in that sense.

EastEnders and the first lesbian kiss

EastEnders has been going slow on the introduction of the lesbian concept on its show. In November 2018, it was first introduced to the world soap’s first lesbian kiss. This was between the characters Tiffany Butcher and Bernie Taylor.

It was a surprise for the viewers and fans of the show, and they were elated on seeing it in the show. It came after Tiffany Butcher played by Maisie Smith admitted during a heated conversation between the pair that she had been delivering drugs. She clarified that she was not a drug dealer but transported the drugs only as a favor for friends.

Bernie played by Clair Norris threatened to disclose it to their best friend. Tiff then said that in that case, she will have to return to Milton Keynes.

Bernie told that Tiff has to stop this wrong act. After this, all of a sudden the couple shared a passionate lesbian kiss and all were taken by surprise.

The response of the fans to the lesbian kiss

Fans of the show were excited and elated. They took to social media to express their emotions. One said:
