The 175th Manchester Derby
As Manchester City won at Old Trafford, they extended their lead in the Premier League to 11 points. Somehow, it looks a bit difficult for The Reds to overtake Manchester City.
The Spanish international, David Silva opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 43rd minute. However, it couldn’t lead for a long time and soon Marcus Rashford smashed an equalizer.

After halftime, Romelu Lukaku made a mistake that led to Nicolas Otamendi scoring the winning goal. As the visitors recorded their 14th consecutive win in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho said,
“I think they are a very good team, they are lucky, they have decisions in their favour. My first reaction is that I feel sorry for Michael Oliver. The referee is a human being and he tried his best. He was very committed to have a good match, which I think he had, but made one mistake, which was a crucial mistake.”
He further added,
“Yes City had much more of the ball, yes they had that apparent control of the game but the biggest save is the double save of their goalkeeper and the biggest decision of the game is the unlucky decision of Michael Oliver.”
Manchester City currently has 46 points and leads the table, while Manchester United has 35 points. Whereas, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are in third, fourth, and fifth respectively.
