American jazz singer Mandy Harvey rose to fame on the hit reality competition show America’s Got Talent.

She lost her hearing at the age of 18 but continued to pursue her passion and traveled as a jazz soloist and a motivational speaker.

Mandy was born Amanda Lynn Harvey in Cincinnati, Ohio on 2 January 1988.

Her nationality is American and her ethnicity is North American.

His family moved to Florida when he was two years old. Her parents Joe, a minister, and Valerie Harvey, a public school teacher had four children of which Mandy is also one of them. She started to sing at the age of four.

In 1998, her family moved to Longmont, Colorado at the age of ten.

Education

Mandy Harvey attended middle school at Twin Peaks Charter Academy. Mandy participated in different music competitions in high school, including traveling with one such group to sing in Australia.

She was recognized as the “Top Female Vocalist” at the Longmont High School graduation ceremony in 2006.

Her vocal talent got blossomed during her high school years.

Mandy Harvey applied and was accepted to Colorado State University in 2006. She was accepted at CSU to be a vocal major.

During her freshman year, however, she lost hearing 110 decibels in both her ears.

Doctors theorized her hearing loss as the result of a genetic flaw that was triggered by medications used during knee surgeries.

She was discouraged to continue CSU and returning to Longmont due to her hearing loss.

Returning to Longmont, she took American Sign Language classes and courses in Elementary Education at a local community college.

After she returned home back, Mandy decided to take a year’s break from singing, but she did continue to play the guitar with her father.

One day while searching on the internet she and her father discovered a song titled “Come Home” sung by the band One Republic.

Her father suggested she learn the lyrics so that they could make a home recording.

Firstly, Mandy Harvey thought this would be impossible, but she gave her best effort.

As she was able to read the music and sing in key, which brought her to the realization that she didn’t have to give up singing.

The year 2008 gave her a chance to encounter a music professor, Cynthia Vaughn of her college led her to revive her music passion.

Mandy Harvey now travels as a jazz soloist and a motivational speaker. She is also an ambassador for the non-profit organization “No Barriers”.

Nice To Meet You her fourth album was released in 2019. Likewise, her fifth album Paper Cuts arrived in 2022.
