Maria Menounos and Keven Undergaro are expecting their first child together
Maria Menounos and her husband Keven Undergaro are finally expecting their first child after a long attempt of to have a baby.
The TV host, 44, announced the exciting news on Tuesday, February 7, during her appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” that she and Keven are soon going to be a parent.
When the host Kelly Ripa asked her about the couple’s summer plans, she simply went on to reveal,
“We had a lot of plans. We were going to go to Greece in the summer. We’re having to move that up because … we’re having a baby!”
Menounos then explained,
“I had to share it here first because you guys are my family. You guys have been on the journey. And I’m so grateful.”
The couple, who got married in December 2017, has always been open about their long fertility journey which they have been trying for a decade. As a result, the pair continuously failed to conceive their baby.
During Tuesday’s episode, the soon-to-be mama reflects on long years of their struggle with infertility, recalling,
“We’ve done everything. I mean, literally everything. They’ve tried to get me pregnant. That didn’t work. Kevin had a surgery. That didn’t work. He’s hung me upside down like a chicken, That didn’t work.”
Maria then shared that they are welcoming their child through a surrogate this time.
She noted in the ‘Live’ that with the help of Zoe Saldana and Kim Kardashian, she and her husband Undergaro were able to connect with a lawyer who introduced them to their “angel” surrogate.
The journalist shows gratitude toward them, expressing,
“We’re just so so grateful because these people really help you bring life forward. And without them we wouldn’t have been able to this,”
Maria Menounos paid tribute to her late mother in honor of their upcoming child
The former ‘TODAY’ TV correspondent also shared the pregnancy news on Instagram honoring her late mother, who died in May 2021 after a long battle with stage 4 brain cancer.
She shares a clip from the show while expressing gratitude towards those who showed love and support for them in their difficult time including Stephanie Levich, Andrew Vorzimer, Kim Kardashian, and Zoe Saldaña.
Similarly, Menounos concludes her statement by stating,
“And lastly, I know my mom had a cup of greek coffee with god and said it’s time. So grateful for the blessing in our lives. Cant believe I’m sharing this news without her in the physical , but I know she made it happen on the other side and is going to be with me every step of the way. Thank you all for your love! We are just so grateful!”
She later shared a separate post sharing a picture of herself holding a baby romper baby jumpsuit alongside her husband who is holding a board sign that reads, ‘We’re having a Baby!’.
Also, she captioned the post,
“We are so overwhelmed by all the messages of love and joy we have received in the last 24 hours. It’s been a long process, with a lot of ups and downs along the way- going to share the entire journey to now on Monday on my show Heal Squad x Maria Menounos- listen on Apple podcast, Spotify and watch on YouTube.”
