Mariah Carey publicly called Meghan Markle a diva and fans are happy she did

Mariah Carey is not afraid to speak her mind.

The pop singer left Meghan and her team in sweat when she accused the former actress of diva moments in Tuesday’s episode.

As the ladies were chatting, the topic of diva popped up and Markle told her second guest that she does not personally connect to the diva persona.

It didn’t get too well with the singer and she interrupted.

“You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan. Don’t act like [you don’t].”

Meghan, shocked, then asked her:

“What kind of diva moments did I give you?”

After Meghan felt insecure, Carey clarified that she meant Meghan’s visuals and not her personality. She also revealed that was just playing with the Suits alum.

Meghan was speechless after Mariah’s diva remark

Markle who was terrified expressed her relief after the interview was over.

The mother of two explained:

“She must have felt my nervous laughter, and … she jumped right in to make sure I was crystal clear that when she said diva, she was talking about the way I dress, the posture, the clothing,”

She continued:

“She meant diva as a compliment, but I heard it as a dig. That moment, as she explained to me, she meant it as chic, as inspirational.”

Markle, 41, admitted that her mind stopped when Carey called her a diva. She added:

“[The conversation] was all going swimmingly, really well, until that moment happened,”

“It stopped me in my tracks. … My mind was just genuinely spinning on what nonsense she might have read or clicked on to make her say that.”

The former Royal Family member explained:

“I just kept thinking in that moment: Is my girl crush coming to a quick demise? Does she actually not see me?”

While the diva topic was the highlight of the show, Markle also told Mariah how important the Grammy winner’s career was to her while growing up within a biracial family.

Earlier this week, Meghan invited Serena as her first guest on the podcast where they talked about career and motherhood.
