Meghan Markle reunited with Gloria Steinem at NYC Gala
Meghan Markle might have missed the coronation at Westminster Abbey but she did enjoy a glitzy bash in New York City on Tuesday night with her mom and husband.
The 41-year-old former actress showed some skin in a quilted gold Joanna Ortiz dress that cost $1,850.
Markle rocked the strapless gown which is famously called the Ideal Universe midi dress featuring a small diamond cutout and knee-length slit.
The mother of two accessorized her look with a pair of Tom Ford stilettos a yellow Carolina Herrera clutch and hoop earrings.
She swooped her brunette hair to one side in loose waves and kept her makeup very simple for the event.
Harry, for his part, looked dapper in a navy suit with a light blue tie as he proudly walked beside his mother-in-law, Doria Ragland.
Meghan, the guest of honor at the gala received the Women of Vision Award from Gloria Steinem, a close friend of Markle who is also a legendary feminist and co-founder of Ms. Foundation for Women.
The 89-year-old advocate presented Meghan with the award for “her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls” on the 50th anniversary of the country’s oldest women’s foundation.
Fans expressed their happiness about Meghan’s win. One wrote,
”They are such a happy couple. Congratulations to Meghan. Harry looks so relaxed and happy too.”

What Markle said in her acceptance speech
During her acceptance speech, the former actress expressed her gratitude to Steinem “for the inspiration that you are, for your mentorship, your sage advice, your extraordinarily cheeky sense of humor, and for your incredible friendship.”
Markle also addressed the mark left on her by Ms. Magazine when she was a young girl.
Archie and Lilibet’s mom said,
“As a young girl, I would come home, I’d settle in after a day of school, pull up my TV tray with dinner and I would turn on my evening ritual: Jeopardy! And I’d glance at the coffee table, where I’d see an array of things: it could be the cat’s collar, my homework, some mail that had just been brought in — and some magazines,”
“The magazines said Ms. on them.”
The Duchess of Sussex continued,
“I remember them vividly because the pictures were different. There was diversity that I hadn’t seen as often, both of color and of age and the names were different,”
“There were congresswomen, there were astronauts and the topics were different — from mothering to being a working mom to heavier topics such as domestic violence, the poverty line, unearthing its roots, where it comes from and matters of equity.”
”I was too young at the time to know what most of it meant,”
Meghan said that despite everything, the magazines were significant.
The fashionable event marked Markle’s first high-profile public event since she skipped the coronation of King Charles III on May 6.
Her husband, however, flew to the historic event but made it home just in time to celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday.
