‘A History Maker!’ Michelle Yeoh Becomes the First Asian Actress to Win Best Actress at the Oscars!

Michelle Yeoh wins Best Actress at the 2023 Oscars
It’s a big year for Michelle Yeoh whose hit movie Everything Everywhere All at Once dominated at the 2023 Oscars.
The creative multiverse adventure bagged a total of seven awards including best picture, director, and original screenplay.
Yeoh, who became the first actress of Asian background to win the prestigious Best Actress award, got emotional while accepting her golden statuette.
The 60-year-old actress said,
“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities.
“And ladies, don’t let anybody tell you that you are ever past your prime.”
Michelle’s co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis also won best actor and actress in supporting role categories.
This is the first time in the history of the Oscars that any movie has won Best Picture, Best Director, and three acting prizes.
In the movie, Yeoh plays the character of a Chinese-American laundrette owner who has problems all around. She is mired in a tax audit, stuck in a painful marriage, and mostly, struggling to have a connection with her daughter Joy.
But after discovering many different versions of herself in the multiverse, she must do whatever it takes to save the world.

Fans celebrated Yeoh’s win on social media
In her emotional winning speech, the Crazy Rich Asians actress thanked every mother by saying,
“This is proof that dreams do come true,”
“I have to dedicate this to all the moms in the world because they are the superheroes, and without them, none of us would be here tonight.”
Michelle is the second woman of color to win Best Leading Actress after Halle Berry for Monster’s Ball more than 20 years ago.
Fans flooded to the comment section to congratulate Yeoh on his historic win.
One fan wrote,

Michelle looked gorgeous in a white Dior Haute Couture confection which consisted of fluttering feathers.
The actress accessorized her look with pear-cut Moussaieff diamonds including a necklace-styled hair accessory that gave her look a perfect finishing touch.
