Miguel Oliveira and his engagement to his step-sister
The star of MotoGP, Miguel Oliveira is engaged! He proposed to his girlfriend, Andreia Pimenta. And she said YES. But the unusual thing is that his girlfriend is also his step-sister. She is the daughter of Miguel’s dad Paulo’s second wife.
Paulo spoke to Spanish sports newspaper Marca and said:
“I’m happy that my son is getting married to the woman of his life.”
Andreia also uploaded a photo of herself with her fiance Miguel and captioned it:
“Today was marked forever in my life. The answer was YES.”
Miguel also posted the same photo and wrote:
“Dear friends, today was knee down for me in every beautiful turn of life and she said YES!”
The couple’ relationship dateline
Miguel and Andreia know each other since they were 13 years old. They started dating but for 11 years they kept it a secret. It was in 2019 that they announced to the world that they are in a relationship. Miguel told Portuguese TV host Manuel Luis Goucha:
“Before love, there was a great friendship. We grew up together. At some point, we realized that it was more than a friendship, it is a very strong love.”
He continued:
“We were going to get married this year, but that weekend, I had a race. And we had to postpone it until next year.”
Besides this good news, Miguel also had another reason for celebrations. In August 2020, he won the MotoGP prize at the competition which was held at the Styria Grand Prix for the first-ever time in the history of Portuguese motorcycling.

About Miguel and his profession
Miguel, 25 is a Portuguese motorcycle professional racer. He was the first Portuguese national to win the World Championship at the 2015 Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
In the 2018 Moto2 World Championship, he came runner-up. Additionally, he has extensive experience in Moto3. He now competes for KTM Tech3 in the MotoGP World Championship.
Miguel hails from Almada in Portugal. His father, Paula was also a former motorcycle racer. He always encouraged his son to enter the same line and supported him throughout this love for racing motorbikes. Miguel was only four years old when his father got him a quad-bike for the first time.
And at his age of nine, Miguel was already racing at the national level. In 2004, he took part in the Portuguese MiniGP Championship. And he won the Young Promise of the Year award in Portugal at that time.
In 2005 and 2006, he was the winner at the Portuguese MiniGP championship and Metrakit World Festival in Spain. Furthermore, in 2009, he also gained the Mediterranean PreGP 125 Trophy.
