Having no political experience. 28-year-old Hope Hicks wound up in the president’s inner circle? What’s her salary working with Trump campaign?
- Hope Hicks was born in Greenwich, a town on the southwest tip of Connecticut.
- She is a former model, actress, and lacrosse player as a child, before getting her English degree at Southern Methodist University.
Hicks did not intend on playing such a huge role in a presidential campaign, instead of falling into the appearance through a job at the Trump Organization.
But she now finds herself as one of President Donald Trump‘s youngest advisers. She is serving as assistant to the president and director of strategic communications in the White House.
Hicks has been with Trump “from the beginning.” She stuck on his campaign through multiple staff revamps, including two high-profile changes at the campaign chair position.
Former model and lacrosse champion from Greenwich
Hicks’s upbringing is said to be in a wealthy suburban enclave. Paul Hicks, her father, worked as a regional CEO for Ogilvy Public Relations and an EVP with the NFL.
Her sister Mary Grace and she were a teen Ford models. She had appeared in advertisements for the likes of Ralph Lauren and Naturalizer shoes.
She was co-captain of the ‘Champion Lacrosse’ team at Greenwich High School. She majored at Southern Methodist University in English. In 2010 she played club lacrosse before graduating.
According to a GQ profile, here she, oops,
“mistakenly attributed the words of Eleanor Roosevelt—‘The future belongs to those who believe in the power of their dreams’—to Jimmy Buffett.”
Career from 2012
According to the Washington Post, in 2012 she worked with the Trump organization. According to New York magazine, in August 2014, she went in-house with Trump. There she handled Ivanka Trump‘s PR for the fashion line and some Trump resorts.
Had no political experience.
Although her family background belongs to politics, she had no experience with it. Her parents first met when her mother, Caye Ann, was an aide to a Democratic congressman and her father was a chief of staff for a Republican.
Hicks never did the Capitol Hill intern thing. Instead, post-college, she was acceptability for New York public relations powerhouse Hiltzik Strategies.
The clients included celebrities such as Alec Baldwin, Justin Bieber, Drake, and Ivanka Trump. In 2014, Ivanka appropriate Hicks to work full-time on her fashion and accessories line (and occasionally model for her website).
Ivanka has called Hicks her,
“brilliant, kind, and wickedly funny friend.”

They had a six years-long relationship. But as Hicks could not manage time for him, they broke up.
