Norm Macdonald died at the age of 61 after his long battle with cancer. The former Saturday Night Live star kept his decade-long battle with cancer far from the media.
The Canadian star had a long career as a comedian and a host in the industry. Many celebrities paid their condolence to the star after his demise.

Seth Rogen, Jon Stewart, and more celebrities are sending their condolences after the death of famous standup comedian, Norm Macdonald.
His longtime producing partner Lori Jo Hoekstra revealed in the statement that he was most proud of his comedy. Moreover, the producer also added he never wanted his diagnosis to affect his fans and loved ones in any way.
In his statement, he also added:
“Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”
He appeared on the long-running variety sketch show for five years. He also anchored the iconic “Weekend Update” segment for three seasons. Before him, other celebrities like Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Colin Jost, and Michael Che hosted the show.
Celebrities paid tribute to the comedian
After his demise, many celebrities paid tribute to the popular comedian, Norm. He had a decades-long career in the Hollywood industry. With his talent and amazing shows, he had accumulated a lot of fans over the years.
After finding out the shocking news of his death, the Full House alum tweeted alongside a photo with his longtime friend he wrote:
“Devastated. Met Norm in Ottawa when he was in my audience at 17 years old. Been close for decades. We have lost a comedic genius. No other voice in comedy has been as uniquely prolific, brazen, dark, hilarious, and heartfelt. Love you forever, Norm.”
Another star Adam Sandler starred in Billy Madison alongside Macdonald. He also paid his condolence to him on his Instagram mentioning he had some of the hardest laughs of his life with him.
Fellow comedian Eugene Levy made a tweet saying:
“Today the world lost a very, very funny man. We miss him already. R.I.P Norm Macdonald.”
Moreover, the show SNL where he worked for many years of his life, showed their honor to the comedian with the tweet which reads:
“Today is a sad day. All of us here at SNL mourn the loss of Norm Macdonald, one of the most impactful comedic voices of his or any other generation.”
