The television legend, Norman Lear won the Emmy Awards at the age of 97. The very surprising thing is that he has been able to set the record as the oldest person to ever win an Emmy.
Similarly, many other co-executive producers of the television legend have also won the award. The producers were Jimmy Kimmel, Adam McKay, Justin Theroux, Will Ferrell, Brent Miller, and Eric Cook as well. They won the award of Outstanding Variety Special for ABC’s Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s ‘All in the Family’ and ‘The Jeffersons’.

Norman Lear’s past Emmy Awards
Initially, Norman Lear’s first award was achieved nearly a half-century ago in the year 1971. He won the award All in the Family won both “Outstanding New Series-Comedy” and also “Outstanding New Series”. Again, in the years 1972 and 1973, the show won “Outstanding Series -Comedy”.
Before the year 2019, the most recent of his fifteen Emmy nominations was in the year 1991, which was for the All in the Family 20th Anniversary Special.
Without any doubt, Norman Lear is considered to be a legend as he is a 15-time Emmy nominee with five statuettes to his name. ‘Line in Front of a Studio Audience’ is an event in which all-star casts were enlisted to perform the episodes of Lear’s iconic sitcoms, ‘All in the Family and The Jeffersons’.

Norman Lear changed history with a victory in the important category. According to him:
“Thank you, thank you, and holy sh*t. I got a great reaction, saying that when opening a Christmas present when I was seven years old. It’s 90 years later, and I feel much the same.”
The television icon gave all the credit to the project. He called the project one of the greatest things that have ever happened to him. He was so much thankful to his fellow executive producer Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Kimmel was the one who was the main driving force behind the project.
Norman Lear said that the main idea for the project was contributed by Jimmy Kimmel. And he also thanked all the farmers and also the ranchers who are across the globe. They were the ones that has nourished Lear for all the years.
Lear and Kimmel seem to be super active for the next installment in the ‘Line in Front of a Studio Audience’ because of this positive output from their previous project. They said:
“We are going to do [a special] again. In fact, in December, we’re going to do something. We haven’t revealed specifically what shows we’re going to do, but we are going to do it again on ABC in December.”
