Peter’s Relation with Crystal Bernard
In the hit song Forever Tonight singer Crystal Bernard and Peter Cetera are rumored to be together in recent days. There has been a rumor going around of them secretly marrying but we can assure you that the couple is not married to the date. They were dating each other for a time but parted ways without the vow and ring on the finger.
Crystal Bernard and Peter Cetera collaborated on the famous romantic song which outed in 1995 and is still considered to be one of the most romantic songs of all time.
Since then the two artists remained close friends. They have been good friends ever since which turned into something more and gave the product as well.
Peter about the split with his band member
Peter was the writer and singer of his band Chicago. There have been lots of hit songs from the band in that era but Cetera decided to start his solo career. Do you wanna know the reason? Well, here it is.
Peter says that he didn’t sit well with the rest of Chicago.
Cetera recalls:
“There was a lot of petty jealousy, money grumblings. It just was an uncomfortable time. After (the 1984 album) ‘Chicago 17,’ the band was falling apart, and I sort of wanted out, and they sort of wanted me out. I think we had a mutual parting of the ways.”
Over three decades, the relationship has remained fractured. It was not repaired for the occasion of Chicago’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April. In fact, it may have only gotten worse. Cetera has nothing nice to say about either his old band or the institution to which it was inducted,
“On the other side was Chicago. It’s like a bad marriage. When you get married, and you love each other, and you have children, and you love each other, it’s kind of like a band. Early on, everything is groovy. Everything is fun. And then you write songs, and they’re kind of like your children. And then at a certain point, you decide to go your separate ways, because you realize it’s no longer in your heart to stay together for the children, which are the songs, and that’s basically what happened.”
25 or 6 to 4
There was a report that Cetera wanted to change the key of “25 or 6 to 4” if he were to sing it with the band at the ceremony. He confirms that he did want to lower it and says the band didn’t respond to his request.
“It was too high, to begin with when we first did it, and now it’s just not my range. Despite my repeated attempts to contact them, I never got an e-mail back about anything. I sent three or four emails about, ‘Hey, congratulations. Let’s see if we can work on something,’ and they chose to talk to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame people. And I didn’t think that was very nice. In the end, music is supposed to be fun, and nothing about that evening, on either side, the (Hall) people or Chicago, was turning out to be fun,”
Cetera insists that he doesn’t regret skipping the induction ceremony. He likens his unanswered efforts to reach out to Chicago to getting kicked in the stomach.
“I’m more than happy that I didn’t go,”
he says.
Cetera is out on the road playing his solo hits. He’s also playing Chicago songs, including “25 or 6 to 4.” And he sounds happy to be doing it, though perhaps a slight measure of bitterness remains. His description of his new band
“It’s the best band I’ve ever worked with”
could be taken as a swipe at the old one.
“Everywhere we go, everybody loves it,”
he says of his current road act.
“It will be a great show.”

Peter’s absence from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
in addition, the co-founder of Chicago says,
“If Peter didn’t want to play or couldn’t play or couldn’t sing or whatever, at least he could have stood with us,”
Chicago became one of the most controversial groups in this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when Peter Cetera, the band’s co-founder, and primary vocalist, decided to skip the induction altogether due to an impasse with the band over the group’s performance.
“I appreciate the award and I want to thank all of you who voted and finally made it happen,”
Additionally, Cetera said earlier this year.
“Many of you will be disappointed and that’s understandable. Quite frankly, I’m disappointed as well. There comes a time when you need to make a decision based on what’s best for you without worrying about the consequences and this [is] that time.”
Co-founder Robert Lamm showed up and spoke about the induction, reuniting with old friends, and Cetera.
Further, about Peter not being there, Robert Lamm said-
“The Deep Purple guys aren’t playing now, but it’s just the fact that they stood up and stood with the band and accepted the honor. And it is an honor [and] that’s the way it should have been. If Peter didn’t want to play or couldn’t play or couldn’t sing or whatever, at least he could have stood with us. I think he certainly deserves it. I think it’s unfortunate. “
