Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s apparently suffered a terrible car chase
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed that they became victims of a near-catastrophic paparazzi chase after attending the Women of Vision Awards in New York City around 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Sussexes’ spokesperson said in a statement,
“Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,”
“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”
“While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.”
Now the NY Police Department released a statement about the unfortunate incident saying that it “assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex” after the couple’s departure from the event.
A police spokesperson said,
“There were numerous photographers that made their transport challenging,”
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination, and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries or arrests in regard.”
The high-ranking police officer said,
“We only had one car as part of this. [The chase] definitely wasn’t two hours.”

Harry and Meghan are very upset following the chase
The couple’s reps said that the heinous pursuit lasted almost two hours causing multiple near collisions with drivers, people on the street, and two NYPD officers.
Mayor Eric Adams also stated that the briefing he received showed that the two police officers “could have been injured.”
He also reminded viewers of how Princess Diana’s car crash killed her during a paparazzi chase in 1997 in Paris.
Adam explained,
“I don’t think there are many of us who don’t recall how [Harry’s] mom died. It would be horrific to lose innocent bystanders during a chase like this and [for] something to have happened to them as well,”
“It’s clear that the paparazzi want to get the right shot, they want to get the right story, but public safety must always be at the forefront,”
He added that Manhattan is not a small town and that no one should be speeding anywhere because it has a dense population.
Despite the relentless chase, the trio was safely brought to the 19th Precinct where they started for 15 minutes.
Sources claim that the police then offered them help and brought a taxi for them after which they were safely escorted to their Upper East Side destination where no one was following them.
After the troubling incident, Harry, Meghan, and Doria remain extremely upset and scared. It is unclear when the family will go back home to their two children in Montecito, California.
