A family of four! Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have expanded their family.

The couple has welcomed their second child, a daughter named Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born several weeks early on January 22, 2025.

Despite being born prematurely, both mother and daughter are reported to be healthy and thriving.

Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, with an exciting statement,

“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news,”

Edoardo shared his joy on social media, calling Athena “tiny and absolutely perfect” and thanking the hospital staff for their care during this special time.

Athena was born at 12:57 PM at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.

Similarly, the royal family shared a photo of Athena on social media.

In the picture, the newborn wore a white onesie, covered her face with one hand, and wrapped herself in a pink blanket.

The baby’s arrival news comes almost three months after the news broke that Beatrice was expecting her second baby. The statement read,

“Her Royal Highess Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year,”

Beatrice and Edoardo also have a son named Christopher Woolf, also known as Wolfie, from Edoardo’s previous relationship.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi: Relationship Timeline

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice started dating in September 2018 after mutual friends introduced them.

They got engaged in September 2019 during a trip to Italy, and they married in a private ceremony at Windsor Castle on July 17, 2020.

Edoardo was previously engaged to Dara Huang, with whom he shares a son named Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, born in April 2016.
