Princess Elisabeth of Belgium starts her military training at Belgium’s Royal Military Academy!

Princess Elisabeth and her military training
The young Princess of Belgium, Princess Elisabeth has embarked on a new chapter of her life. She has begun her military school training. The heir to the Belgian throne is ready to get trained in combative arts.
And she could not be happier. Further her parents, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are also proud of their young daughter.
A new video has been released by the Belgian Defense on the occasion of the Princess joining the military camp. The video shows her along with the 170 officer candidates on their first day of training after they enrolled at the facility.
As a future monarch, Princess Elisabeth needs to have an in-depth knowledge of her country’s defensive powers. She also is required to have basic training in martial arts. The training is expected to last three years.
About the Royal Military Academy
The Royal Military Academy is a military university of Belgium. And it trains and educates officers in the four major components of the Belgian defense. These are the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Medical.
The basic courses at this academy are in English, Dutch, and French. It was established on 7 February 1834. Besides Belgian nationals, the academy has opened up the university to some other nationality people as well. There are a lot of officers from Luxemburg who are getting themselves trained here.
Additionally, the Institute had also trained Princess Elisabeth’s father, King Philippe, from 1978 to 1981. Thus, Princess Elisabeth is tracing the footsteps of her father.
Before she joined the academy, Princess Elisabeth was preparing herself for this hard training. Earlier this year, the royal palace of Belgium had released a photo of the young Princess running around the palace in her attempt to better her physical endurance.
Princess and her schooling and college education
The young and beautiful Princess had attended UWC Atlantic College in Wales. In March 2018, the college accepted her into the sixth form. She had cleared the entry tests.
Later, she completed her Internationale Baccalauréat this year. She was one of the 350 students from 90 countries to have been able to enter the institute. And she returned to Belgium in March 2020 ahead of the pandemic and lockdown.
Princess Elisabeth is the eldest daughter of her royal parents. And she will turn 20 this October. Furthermore, she has three younger siblings. These are Prince Gabriel, 18, Prince Emmanuel, 15, and Princess Eléonore, 12. The whole family was on a summer break this year.

When Princess Elisabeth ascends the throne, she will be the first queen regnant of Belgium. And this is possible now due to the change in the law which took place in 1991. Earlier, only boys could ascend thrones. But now with the changed law, a female can maintain her place in the line of succession over her younger brothers.
