What is Princess Eugenie’s Second Child’s Rank in the Succession of the British Throne?!
- Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s second son is the 13th member in line to the succession of the British throne.
- The couple is also parents to August Philip Hawke, 2.
- Princess Eugenie and Jack got married in October 2018 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Will Princess Eugenie’s second child have a royal title?
Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed their second child, another baby boy named Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on May 30 of this year. The newest addition to the British royal family is the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 13th great-grandchild.
Ernest was also the monarch’s first great-grandchild born after her death in September of last year.
Baby Ernest also immediately took his place in the 13th line of succession to the throne after his birth, after his big brother.
After the Queen’s passing, Eugenie’s uncle became King Charles III. Her cousin, Prince William then became the first in line to the throne, followed by his three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who he shares with his wife, Catherine, the Princess of Wales.
Prince Harry who is not a senior working royal anymore is now fifth in line to the throne with his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet behind him.
Following the Sussexes, Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew is next. Then comes Eugenie’s sister, Princess Beatrice, and niece, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
Eugenie is currently 11th in line to the throne which makes her firstborn, August, the 12th.
The princess’s second son bumped her uncle Prince Edward down a spot in the line of succession.
Ernest is the third grandchild of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
Since Eugenie and Jack didn’t receive any new titles from the Queen on their wedding day in 2018, it is unlikely that their babies will have royal titles of their own.
Since their nuptials, Jack is simply known as Mr. Brooksbank while Eugenie is referred to as Princess Eugenie.
Despite being members of one of the oldest monarchies in the world, both sons of Eugenie will most probably earn their own incomes in the future.
Eugenie is no longer a working member of the royal family and has a job outside the royal household. The princess appears alongside her extended family at royal events like Trooping the Color and royal charitable causes. However, she works as a director at the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

Princess Eugenie shared photos of Ernest
Buckingham Palace announced the arrival of Eugenie and Jack’s second baby boy in June, writing,
“Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Ernest was born on Tuesday, 30th May, and weighed 7lbs 1oz,”
Eugenie herself announced the exciting news via her private Instagram account by sharing some cute snaps of her new son.
She wrote,
”Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs,”
“He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already.”
Like most of the royal names, Ernest’s name is also a tribute to his ancestors. His middle names honor Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather King George V, Jack’s father George, and Eugenie’s maternal grandfather Ronald, father of Sarah Ferguson.
