Conway’s alleged ridicule of her White House staffers
The counselor to American President Donald Trump Kellyanne Conway was present at the 8th June 2017 glitzy UK Election party at the British Embassy in Washington DC.
People overheard him mocking the White House staffers. At least 3 eyewitnesses have confirmed to US Magazine that Kellyanne Conway was having an off-the-record conversation with a group of reporters at the British Embassy.
Conway said that Trump had told her to “go out there and say ‘Jim Comey is going to have to wait and see about the tapes,'”. She was referring to the recent fallout after former FBI Director James Comey’s Senate testimony.
Conway is alleged to have further said:
“I mean, that’s basically the same thing as ‘no comment,'”
Conway is also alleged to have ridiculed White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus for his attempt to urge top aides to cease leaking information.
Imitating Reince Priebus, Conway said in a dopey voice characteristic of him:
“‘No leaks guuuys’
She also spoke ill about Marc Short, White House Director of Legislative Affairs, it is alleged. This was posted by one of Politico’s spies on his now-viral Twitter feed @KellyanneLeaks
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told Politico that Conway disputed the Twitter account and justified saying that she was not mocking Priebus but rather how wrong the reporters have been.
Politico’s spy has also revealed that Conway had kept talking for about an hour as folks cycled in and out of her circle. Several photos of the alleged animated conversation of Conway with the group of people have also been tweeted by the same person.
At one point, Conway could be seen burying her face in her hands. Due to this conversation about the Trump Government in the open setting, Conway has been termed a ‘leaker’.
Conway’s denial of her mocking Trump staffers
On 12th June 2017, Conway denied leaking any private information at the party. She also said that she did not bash any of her colleagues. Conway told ‘Fox and Friends’ interview:
“if I were a great leaker, I’d get much better press, don’t you think? Part of why I don’t is because I won’t divulge confidential information.”
She continued:
“I never divulge what the president tells me. I never would,”
Conway said about Marc Short:
“Marc Short is one of my best friends in the West Wing. He came to my wedding 16 years ago. And he and Kristen are friends of ours, and our families are close. I don’t wonder what he does every day. I marvel at it. And I often join in those efforts. I think we had three or four meetings together just last week. He’s our director of legislative affairs. He’s one of the many unsung heroes.”
Her controversial image
Since the inauguration of Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway has been caught in a number of controversies. Two days after the inauguration, Conway used the phrase ‘alternative facts’ to defend statements made by their press secretary about the crowd size for the inauguration.
Conway had used the event called the ‘Bowling Green massacre’ to support Trump’s immigration ban. However, it may be recalled that no such event ever took place in the history of Mankind.
Conway the next day corrected it saying that she was talking about the Bowling Green terrorists who had killed American soldiers in Iraq. But these two terrorists had no plans to carry out terrorist strikes in the USA.
Her misstatements have been criticized and TV news shows have ceased calling her on their news shows. On 9th February 2017, she freely advocated and persuaded people to buy Ivanka Trump’s products.
She praised the products and requested people to buy them online. This was in violation of her federal position and soon formal cases were filed against her for it. It was felt that she was trying crudely to enrich Ivanka and the President’s family.
People even asked for her firing from the Trump administration. It was felt that she is unable to differentiate between Trump’s business and her federal administration. She was banned from MSNBC’s Morning Joe show due to her incorrect facts.
The co-host of the show Mika Brzezinski told:
“We know for a fact that she tries to book herself on this show. I won’t do it. Because I don’t believe in fake news, or information that is not true… every time I’ve ever seen her on television, something’s askew, off or incorrect”
She was labeled a fabulist and more TV shows and channels banned her from their programs. She had also said that National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had President’s full confidence and a few hours later, Flynn had resigned.
She then said that he had asked for the resignation while the White House Press said that the President asked for his resignation. Such contradictory statements from Conway did not go well with the media.
People have also said that she is disgusted with the President and her job and that her words and actual beliefs are totally different.
