Renee Zellweger: Is there a possible sequel of ‘Bridget Jones’s baby’? and more about Renee’s relationships and stardom problems!
Bridget Jones’s sequel
American award-winning actress and producer Renee Zellweger was recently seen at the Greenwich International Film Festival in Connecticut on 1st June 2017. She starred in title roles in three movies of the same franchise.
These were 2001’s Bridget Jones’s Diary, 2004’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, and 2016’s Bridget Jones’s Baby. These are based on Helen Fielding’s novel of the same name and his columns.
All three movies were box-office hits and managed to gross significant revenue. They also received generally positive reviews. Renee Zellweger hinted at a possible new sequel to the 2016 movie. She told US Weekly:
“Selfishly I hope so! She’s a lot of fun!”
Renee Zellweger’s role of Bridget Jones is that of a charmingly imperfect Brit. In the third film, Renee breaks up with her very handsome boyfriend Mark Darcy and after one night with an American Mogul, she returns to Mark. She then becomes pregnant. Renee added:
“I have something that I’m going to do this summer that I haven’t done before and so I’m looking forward to that,”
She is probably contemplating going behind the camera. Not wanting to divulge further details, Renee Zellweger said:
“Yeah, we’ll see. We’ll see how that goes. We’ll see what happens!”
Her Special person
Renee Zellweger has been in romantic involvement with American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer Doyle Bramhall II since 2012.
While attending the Changemaker Honoree Gala at the Greenwich International Film Festival in Connecticut, Renee Zellweger admitted her love for Doyle and praised him saying:
“He’s a very special person!”
Renee had known Doyle since the early 1990s when they were studying at the University of Texas They did not date then but when they again met years later, their romance blossomed. A reliable source told US Weekly in 2013:
“Things went from there. Renee’s really happy and has a new life.”
Renee had previously dated American actor Jim Carrey (1999-2000), Musician Jack White (2003), singer Kenny Chesney (4 months marriage from 9th May 2005), and American actor and producer Bradley Cooper (2009-2011). At the festival, Renee was honored for her work which supported ALS research.
While on the red carpet, Renee said:
“I’m just grateful for the opportunity. I really appreciate the work that the ladies who founded the film festival are doing — their commitment to making an impact — spotlighting these causes to make a vital difference in so many people’s lives. And I’m just flattered that they asked me to be part of it. I’m grateful that they asked me to be part of it.”
Her struggle with Stardom
Renee likes acting but has difficulty coping with fame. In an interview last September, Renee Zellweger had said:
“I like the job, I really like the job, I like to go to a set, I like the camaraderie. Fame is weird to me. It’s not natural. You know, it’s not natural, and you don’t have an opportunity to meet people in a genuine way.”
Though Renee is a talented actress, she always feels that she is not good. Talking about her acting, Renee said:
“I’m not trained, so I feel like every job I’ve got by accident because I’ve tricked them, and they just haven’t found out yet,”
She feels that her rise to stardom has been by fluke and she does not deserve it. She also remembered the premiere night of her 1996 film ‘Jerry Maguire’. Her parents had accompanied her to the premiere.
While she was being praised for her acting in the movie, she was unable to include her parents in all the fame that was slowly entering her life.
Talking of that moment and feeling, Renee said:
“I remember the night of the Jerry Maguire premiere, I didn’t know what to expect, I had no idea what was about to happen,” she said. “My parents were there. They’re your most important people, so this big film ends and it’s really well-received, then you’re swept away and there’s no more contact with your mom and dad. They’re left there, and you’re moving around, shaking hands and taking pictures, signing things and saying hello. You have responsibilities that don’t include them. It’s like a distancing that they feel like they’re losing you in some way.”
Recalling her chat with her parents that night, Renee said:
“They were so vulnerable. It broke my heart. It made it clear to me early on that this was going to be a difficult transition for both of us, really. [My mom] was just teary because she thought she was going to spend this most special night ever with me, and we didn’t have the opportunity to walk around together and share it. I’ve been hyper-aware of it ever since.”
