Rita Ora and her director beau Taika Waititi get married in London
Meet Mrs. Rita Ora Waititi.
The British singer-songwriter and director Taika Waititi got married in an intimate ceremony in their hometown London.
A source revealed:
”It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.”
The source also reported that Rita has changed her surname to Waititi Ora and that she was the one who wanted a small wedding in order to keep their relationship as private as possible.
The source continued:
“A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.”
Ora has herself confirmed the news as she wore what seemed like a wedding band in an Insta picture that she shared on Sunday.
Reports also suggest that the singer,31, and the director, 46, made almost simultaneous wedding proposals to each other last month. They were initially planning to have a low-key ceremony with a huge party later this summer.
Another source added:
“This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand. It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalize their relationship.”
Rita and Taika started dating in 2021
The pair first made headlines about their relationship when they were pictured cozying up to each other in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
They confirmed their relationship when they were snapped kissing on a balcony.
After the kiss went viral, the Thor: Ragnarok director told the Sydney Morning Herald:
“I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick. And also, ‘Is it that big a deal?’ No, not really. I was doing nothing wrong. It’s fine.”
Just three months after the viral kiss, the pair made their red carpet debut at The Suicide Squad premiere.
Waititi married Ora nearly after he divorced his first wife Chelsea Winstanley two years before with whom he shares two daughters 10-year-old Te Hinekahu and 6-year-old Matewa Kiritapu.
