Romanian police arrest the controversial Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan!
Romanian police have detained the controversial social media influencer, Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan after they raided his house in Romania. And this time, the accusation is of human trafficking involving minors and money laundering.

On 21 August 2024, the police authorities of Romania raided the Bucharest house of the controversial social media influencer, Andrew Tate. Subsequently, they detained him and his brother, Tristan.
And this time, the police is probing into his alleged involvement in human trafficking dealing with minors and also money laundering. His spokesperson, Mateea Petrecu stated:
“Although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering.”
However, Andrew denied the allegations adding that the police have no evidence. He wrote on X clarifying his side that the minor that the police claim is actually a women aged 24 years. And that, she has been a friend of him and his brother for many years now.
Who is Andrew Tate?
Andrew Tate whose full name is Emory Andrew Tate is a social media influencer from the USA and Great Britain. He is a 37-year old self-proclaimed misogynist who used to propagate the incel culture on his social media platforms. Therefore, several social media platforms have banned him and deactivated his accounts.
Andrew spreads hate against women and his writings are part of the manosphere. On his X account which is currently active, he has around 9.9 million followers. Moreover, Andrew is also a far-right activist.
His popularity came after he appeared in 2016 on the reality TV show, Big Brother (British version). But, he was evacuated within six days of the show started after a video surfaced that showed him attacking a woman.
Clarifying his side, Andrew had claimed, at that time, that the video was fake and an edited one. He said that it was a sheer lie done by someone who wants him to look bad in the public space.
About the raids, he wrote on X:
“The matrix is real”.
“9 hours into the house search and an armed police officer looks at me apologetically and shrugs his shoulders and he said ‘you’ve made somebody very angry’,”
The brothers’ defiant attitude
Andrew’s brother, Tristan wrote on his X:
“The truth WILL come out, and I look forward to exposing what is happening to me and my brother.”
The two keep claiming that they have written or done nothing illegal to be investigated. According to them, they are right in what they say and do. Further, they added that no one can silence them.
Moreover, this is not the brothers’ first arrest. Earlier in 2022, they were arrested along with two Romanian women. It was alleged that they were part of a human trafficking racket and had raped and sexually exploited many women. The case is yet to come to the trial phase.
As mentioned before, many social media platforms had banned him for divisive content and hate speeches through his accounts. Andrew also has cases registered against him in the UK.
