They started off happily and had two children; Prince William was born on 21 June 1982 and Prince Harry was born on 15 September 1984.

Overtly, everything seemed to be okay. But there were a lot of things happening behind closed doors.

Prince Charles could not forget his old love Camilla Parker-Bowles. The two used to meet regularly even after Prince Charles married Princess Diana.

In the Panorama interview, Princess Diana had candidly spoken about this extra-marital relationship of Prince Charles.

She had said:

“Well, there were three of us in this marriage so it was a bit crowded.”

While Prince Charles continued after marriage to retain his relationships with Camilla, Princess Diana yearned for love. She was also infuriated by Prince Charles ignoring her.

The couple, Charles and Diana, ultimately separated in 1992. They divorced in August 1996 just one year before her death in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Diana was linked romantically with Barry Mannakee who was her bodyguard and a police officer with the Royal Protection Squad. Diana had confessed to her love for him.

On learning of some closeness between the two, Barry was transferred to Diplomatic Protection Group in central London. He was married with two children. Soon after his transfer, he expired in 1987 in a motorcycle accident.

Diana also was close to David Waterhouse, Captain in Household Cavalry in 1989 and was often seen dining with him and her friends in posh restaurants.

She was also associated with her childhood loyal friend, James Gilbey. Talking about the former cavalry officer in the British Army, James Hewitt, Diana had said:

“I adored him.”

There are rumors that he is the father of Prince Harry. But James had denied them stating that he met Diana in 1986, after the birth of Prince Harry.

Diana was also linked romantically with Oliver Hoare, an art dealer and a close friend of Prince Charles. She had met and got close to rugby legend William Carling.

She was charmed by Dr. Hasnat Khan, a heart surgeon. But he did not continue his relationship with her since he did not want the publicity which came with keeping contact with the royal lady. Besides, his conservative parents did not agree with his relationship with Diana.

Diana is alleged to have had a one-night stand with JFK Jr. She was also linked with Canadian musician Bryan Adams. But in 2018, Bryan stated that they were just good friends. During her death, Diana was in the company of Dodi Fayed. Probably it was love at last for her.
