The Mandalorian star Rosario Dawson and New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker are no longer dating and remain good friends.
According to People, who confirmed the news, the two have ended their relationship after almost three years of togetherness but remained on good terms.
Last year, the rumors started speculating in November that they had broken up and cited they had conflicted schedules and distance. However, the pair hasn’t yet commented on their divorce news.
Dawson and Booker first met through their mutual friend at a political fundraiser in the summer of 2018. Months later, the two reconnected, however, they hadn’t opened up until 2019.
Booker confirmed he was in a relationship but declined to say who she was while speaking with the radio show The Breakfast Club in Feb 2019.
He said,
“I’m dating somebody really special. I got a boo.”
Later on, Dawson officially confirmed to TMZ their relationship when she was spotted at a Washington, D.C., airport. She explained,
“He’s a wonderful human being and it’s good to spend some time together when we can. We’re busy,”
She also added, “I am just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much, who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving.”
More on their relationship
The pair’s romance rumors started speculating after they attended a performance of Dear Evan Hansen together in New York.
Throughout their three-year romance, the couple often appeared together on red carpets and other several Booker’s events. They even moved together in June 2020.
As the two hadn’t seen each other in months due to their busy schedules. Dawson sold her multi-million dollar West Coast home and moved to Newark with Booker. She explained to Kevin Smith at the Mooby’s Pop-UP in Los Angeles,
“I’m going to New Jersey. I’m moving to Newark. It’s time. We were thinking about moving in together anyway, but especially during all of this, it’s been really intense.”
Last year only Dawson accompanied Booker to President Joe Biden’s Inauguration at the U.S. Capitol. The couple wore a matching mask from Dawson’s company Studio 189.
