Who is Rusev?

Rusev is a Bulgarian-American Professional wrestler. Rusev is most known for becoming a three-time WWE American Champion. He is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he competes as Miro.

Rusev was born on 25th December 1984 in Plovdiv, PR Bulgaria. His born name is Miroslav Barnyashev. He is the son of Slavka Barnyasheva meanwhile his father’s name has not been disclosed yet. On the other hand, he holds Bulgarian nationality and belongs to the Caucasian ethnicity.

Moving toward his educational background, he has enrolled in a Sports School and has participated in powerlifting, rowing, and sambo as an adult. Later to pursue his career, he moved to the U.S. with the dream of becoming a Professional Wrestler.

Rusev: Career

At the Knox Pro Wrestling Academy, he began his wrestling training under Gangrel and Rikishi. On November 22, 2008, Barnyashev made his professional wrestling debut in the San Diego, California-based independent promotion New Wave Pro Wrestling by defeating Aerial Star while using the ring name Miroslav Makarov.

Moreover, he signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in September 2010.  On the July 17, 2011, episode of FCW, he competed in his first-ever televised match and defeated Mike Dalton while under Raquel Diaz’s management.

Additionally, Rusev now known as Miro debuted in ALL Elite Wrestling (AEW) on the 9th of September 2020 in the episode of Dynamite. Currently, Rusev made his return to AEW television on the 1st of June 2022 in the episode of Dynamite defeating Johny Elite.
