Sandra Bullock‘s longtime boyfriend, Bryan Randall is dead. He was 57.
The late photographer’s family confirmed the sad news in s statement shared with Page Six on Monday.
The grieving family wrote,
“It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS,”
“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”
They continued,
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,”
The Randall family asked for “privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.”
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) as a rare neurological disease affecting the brain and spinal cord’s nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement.
As the disease spreads, the brain loses its ability to initiate and control voluntary movements.
A cure for the illness called Lou Gehrig’s disease is still unknown and unfortunately no effective treatment to reverse its progression.
What do we know about Sandra and Bryan’s relationship?
The actress first met Randall in 2015 when he photographed one of her children, Louis, 13 at a birthday party, as per Today.
Over the years, the couple remained very private about their relationship. However, Sandra opened up about her relationship during a December 2021 appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s then-Watch talk show Red Table Talk. There the actress called him the love of my life.
Bullock who was previously married to entrepreneur Jesse James from 2005 to 2010, said at the time,
“I am someone who went through the divorce process,”
“I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children — three children, he’s got his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever,”
“I don’t want to say do it how I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and a devoted mother.”
The 28 Days actress also opened up about co-parenting as Randall adopted both her kids, son Louis and daughter Laila, 11.
She said on the Facebook Watch show,
“My life was already on the track and here is this beautiful human being who doesn’t want anything to do with my life, but the right human being to be there — to help me … and he is the example — the example that I would want my children to have,”
Randall was a highly skilled photographer who primarily focused on “children’s portraits and outdoor scenes.”
