Sara Bareilles shows off her engagement ring
Sara Bareilles gives a glimpse of her engagement ring a year after announcing her engagement to Joe Tippett.
Joe popped the question to the “Love Song” singer on New Year’s Eve last year after seven years of dating.
The singer and actress, 44, posted several images of herself on Instagram on Friday, January 19, showcasing her engagement ring while holding random objects, such as scissors and a bottle of wine.
Similarly, the first image in the series features a close-up of the spectacular diamond ring.
The photos show that the cushion-cut engagement ring is complemented by two side stones with a gold band.
Bareilles also captioned the post, writing,
“We have been engaged for a year and this is the ring we chose- we picked it up yesterday,”
Sara Bareilles detailing the backstory of her engagement ring
Joe initially proposed to Sara with a leafy gold engagement ring back in December 2022. He wrote in the caption section,
“We bought the gold leaf at an arts fair in Mexico City last December because looking for a ring started to feel like it was distorting and eclipsing the beauty of choosing each other.”
She then explained that the new ring was found at an antique store upstate.
The Grammy winner singer admits that she first hesitated to accept the new ring as “it didn’t fit my finger so I was scared to take the leap.”
She added, “I balked at it,” explaining that she was “hunting for the ‘right ring'” to replace the gold one from Mexico.
Although the couple didn’t get the ring when they left the antique shop, they discussed the idea of the ring while driving home. She stated,
“That it is something he wants to give me, not just get for me. That the leap of faith of not quite knowing if it was “the one” is just that. A leap of faith. And isn’t that life?”
She Bareilles,
“I look at this ring and think of his big blue eyes and how sometimes they are pleading with me to let go and grow into something new with him. So I did. And we got it the next day and got it sized and now I just love that I see him when I look at it- I like looking at you @joetipps.”
