Sarah Michelle Gellar Pays Tribute to her best friend, Award winning actor and comedian Robin Williams on Third Anniversary of His Death
- Award-winning actress Sarah Michelle Gellar still misses her costar and friend Robin Williams.
- She showed her love for the stand-up comedian and actor on Friday, August 11, 2017, on the third anniversary of his death.
- The actress paid tribute to the late comedian with a heart-touching message on Instagram.
Sarah posted on Instagram,
“Robin, we keep you with us this through all the gifts you have left, of which there are many. So today, watch one of his movies, listen to his comedy specials or quote your favorite joke,” the actress, 40, captioned a black and white photo of the two together. “You were a comedy genius, a phenomenal actor, and a great friend. We miss you every day, but today especially.”
She continued,
“This is without question, the hardest few words I have ever tried to write.”
In an interview with Us Weekly in a statement on Aug. 12, 2014, Sarah stated,
“My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children [Charlotte, 5, and Rocky, 2] he was ‘Uncle Robin,’ to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me, he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having.”
Sarah and William’s friendship
Before Williams’s death, he and Sarah were best friends. In an interview with E! News in 2013, said that they were best friends saying,
“I have to be on this show. Please tell Robin.'”
On the show, she said,
“Williams is the greatest stand-up comedian of all time, [an] Academy Award winner and “nicest man on the planet.”
After her statement, Williams joked,
“Wow, not at all. It’s as if Gandhi did stand-up.”
Sarah and the Academy Award winning actor Robin Williams were good friends for a long time. Sarah was a fan of Robin since when Robin won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting.
Robin and Sarah starred together in the American hit sitcom The Crazy Ones from 2013 to 2014.

Robin Williams’s death
Award winning actor and comedian Robin Williams was found dead in his California home, on August 11, 2014, at age 63. According to the reports, he died of asphyxia due to hanging. He was also diagnosed with Lewy body dementia after his death.
