The Only Murders in the Building star shared a post of herself blowing out candles on a floral-adorned cake and wrote in the captions,
“I am thankful for so much in my life and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we’ve been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty,”
“Because of YOU we’ve been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people. This is my true passion in life.”
Selena Gomez noted that she doesn’t want anyone to send her a gift for her birthday but wants them to “donate to the Rare Impact Fund.”

Selena has been vocal about mental illness
Selena Gomez has always used her fame and platform to spread awareness about mental health.
In 2020, she created the Rare Impact Fund as “part of her commitment to addressing mental health and self-acceptance,” thefund’s website writes.
She has also been very open about her own mental health journey.
Last year, the Wolves songstress revealed that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020. She also admitted to having past feelings of not wanting to be alive after she had a mental breakdown during her 2016 Revival tour, which she canceled early.
Selena Gomez’s former assistant Theresa Mingus told in the actress’ Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind and Me, ”At one point she’s like, ‘I don’t want to be alive right now. I don’t want to live,’”
Over the years, Gomez has taken several social media breaks to protect her mental health from the negative trollers.
She also publicly defended Hailey Bieber from her fans’ threats and decided to take a break from the internet after the drama began to ignite online.
